Hello Friends,

Let me take a few moments to introduce myself. I grew up in a loving family of 9 children from a traditional Christian background. My home district is Madaripur about 260 km from Dhaka city. My wife Asha and I live in the Kalachandpur area very close to Baridhara and Gulshan 2 which are popular ex-patriate living communities. I have a love of reading and also for teaching children

Concerning my education, I myself finished pre-graduate studies at Notre Dame College in Dhaka, Bangladesh, considered by many to be the best college in Bangladesh.  Then I completed my Advance Level in Law and Accounting, and my IELTS preparatory courses from London university local center British Council, Dhaka. I then completed graduate studies in English and Commerce as well as post graduate studies in English from National University in Gazipur. In 1999 I received training for teaching Bangla from the Learn Bangla Language School and began my Bangla teaching career. After teaching in several different Bangla language schools I realized the needs of many learners were not being fulfilled, such as:

• Need of well trained teachers having sound knowledge in literature and culture.
• Quality course books which are continually being revised.
• Books prepared with highest quality paper and binding.
• Flash cards, CD’s, and other supplements for enhanced learning.
• Clean and well furnished class rooms.
• Supply of purified water, tea, coffee, and other snacks for learners.
• Flexibility in class time, duration, day, teaching place, and payment of courses.
• Easy location of the language center with good security for learners.
• An excellent learning environment at a reasonable cost.

Although these other schools were sincere in their efforts to help these Bangla learners, they were not providing some of these essential needs and thus the quality of the learning suffered. Therefore I sought to establish the Bangla Language Center to provide a better service to foreign Bangla learners.

It is my goal to serve foreigners by providing a quality Bangla learning experience in a comfortable environment so that these foreigners can better fulfill their goals for coming to Bangladesh and learning our precious “mother tongue”.
